How I stay positive!

Assalam Aleykum Warahmatullahy Wabarakatuh!
Peace be upon you!

If there's anything I've learnt from this little life of mine, its that you'll always have those down in the dump kind of days. That's just the way it is!And when the blues come knocking at your door, its up to you to know that only you can chase them away.YOU HAVE TO PICK YOURSELF UP!One place where most people go wrong is that they expect someone else to come and save them.Someone else to be their hero. But I can tell you from  experience,if you're waiting for an external force to magically save you from your sad predicament, you're going to wait until the end of time.Harsh, but oh so true.

In case you hadn't noticed, there's just too much negativity on this earth and not enough positivity. We live in a negative society, and if you don't take care and program your own mind, someone else will and thus someone else will be in control. You don't want that ok.That's a no no.We are our own people. We define ourselves and we have the power to control how we react to the situations that are upon us.

"A man is not hurt so much by what happens,as by his opinion of what happens."

That being said, lets get on with it...

You know those times when you're feeling down and you have absolutely no idea why? You're not sick, you have a family, friends,a roof over your head, but for some reason, you just aren't feeling the happy vibes.Worse off when you don't even know what you want!In times like those,I find that it helps  a tonne to talk to The Most Exalted.Sometimes I don't say anything.I just cry there like an unstable maniac. But at the end of it all I feel amazing.Maybe because I know someone is listening. And at the end of the day, things are going to be just fine.

Set goals.
Figure out what you want and right those things down.WRITE THEM DOWN I SAY!I personally try to write everything down. You know what they say right?A goal not written down is just a wish.Atleast i think that's what they say...something near there.Anyways...
Write them down and visit them constantly.Create a vision board if needed.Human beings are goal oriented creatures. We thrive on achievement and progress. If you're stagnant, you're definitely not making the best of the time given to you.

Clear out all the negative crap in your life.No crappy entertainment,no crappy books and magazines,no crappy food,no drama people,NO CRAPPY LIFESTYLE!Surround yourself with everything positive, as much as you are able to.Have positive posters on your walls, what you read, eat and watch and listen to,and especially who you hang out with, should all be in harmony with your values and goals.I have a tonne of motivational videos on my playbook, self help books and some hilarious comedy films just to give me that extra happy feel especially when I'm on the go.It particularly works for me and actually goes a long way.So try and cut out as much crap from your life as you can,if you can't, atleast less doses. :)

Be grateful and at peace with yourself.
Accept yourself for who you are and what you are.Dress nice and make an effort.Exercise! Its super beneficial! And it leaves you happy because of the endorphins that are released.Look around you and realize how blessed you are and be happy with what you've been given.Be content and if there's something that you want and dream of,work towards it.Don't waste your time comparing yourself to others and complaining,do something about your situation.I keep a gratitude journal, and what that means is that I go about my day trying to note everything that I'm grateful for and then jot it down in my little journal.Every time I feel down and under,i just go through my gratitude journal and remind myself how blessed I truly am. If you're not into journaling, you could simply opt to put up some sticky notes up on your wall or print out some quotes you love and frame them.

I honestly wish I could do more of this because its a blessing that we take so much for granted!Travelling allows you to clear your head and get a new perspective.See things in a different light and maybe even find yourself in some way, I don't know. You get to experience different people, cultures, places and most importantly, you gain experience.I mean seriously who wouldn't want to travel, you get to have fun and also learn something useful. That's the prefect combination if you ask me.

So those are some of the means I use to keep a wide smile plastered on my face for as long as I can.I hope they help you guys! As always, I love hearing from you!xoxo
